There are three people who should be credited to the discovery of achondroplasia and how it is known today.
Pierre Maroteaux
Pierre Maroteaux was the first man to ever mention Dwarfism. He was a French physician and scientist. He is largely credited for dwarfism because of his discovery of the link between genetic condition and prenatal micromelic of the patients in 1967.
Maurice Lamy
Maurice worked with Pierre and the rest of their team to study the order and number of chromosomes inside patients who have dwarfism. Maurice worked also as a French physician.
Dr. John Wasmoth
In 1994, he and his team discovered the cause of achondroplasia while researching the topic of dwarfism. He later published his findings, which is the main reason that he is one of the main discoverers of achondroplasia.
